ROCK SPRINGS — Many residents attended the Rock Springs American Legion Post 24 Ninth Annual Veterans Awareness walk on Armed Forces Day Saturday morning.
The walk was created to remember those who have served and all those currently serving. Prior to the walk, a prayer was said by the post chaplain. The walk was hosted by the Auxiliary Club, a chapter within the post.
Members of the Legion and family members started the walk at 1000 at Veterans Park and maneuvered through town to the Wyoming Club on K street before walking through the Art Tunnel to rally in the Post 24 courtyard off S Main St for a BBQ.
Participants were escorted by American Legion Riders and members in side by sides, and a Rock Springs Police Department vehicle, the American flag, Wyoming State flag, All Service flags, and a POW/MIA flag which were carried by proud veterans as the group marched across town.
