GREEN RIVER — Pineda’s Kenpo Karate of Green River hosted approximately sixty competitors at the 31st Annual Interschool Karate Tournament. The tournament was held in place of the annual Western Wyoming Karate Championships.

The tournament was an invitation-only tournament and included competitors from Pineda’s Kenpo, Casper Martial Arts, and SOS Martial Arts of Salt Lake City. Events included forms, weapons, creative forms, sparring, self-defense, flag sparring, padded sword sparring, and board breaking.

The tournament was great for beginner competitors, teaching students tournament rules and providing small divisions.

Competitors earned points for places earned in each division with high scorers awarded age division grand champions.

The students’ diligence and perseverance at practice resulted in their success at the competition.
