SARATOGA — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will host a Platte Valley Mule Deer Initiative meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, March 3 at the Saratoga Town Hall, 110 E. Spring Ave in Saratoga.
The Department will address the status of PVMDI plan objectives as well as an overview of accomplishments. A herd population status update will be provided along with harvest information from the past hunting season.
The Platte Valley Mule Deer Initiative was established in 2011 to increase public involvement in the management direction of the Platte Valley mule deer herd. The primary goal was to develop a management plan specific to this herd, through a collaborative process with all interested stakeholders. The Platte Valley Mule Deer Plan was completed in 2012 and is tiered from the statewide Mule Deer Initiative approved by the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission in 2007.
