Police release photos of US Bank robbery suspect

ROCK SPRINGS – RSPD Chief Michael Lowell reports that on January 21st, 2014 at approximately 2:14 PM, the US Bank located on Dewar Drive in Rock Springs was robbed.

On Tuesday, January 21st at approximately 2:14 P.M. an adult male entered the Dewar Drive branch wearing faded denim jeans, a black long sleeved shirt and what appears to be a gray or tan hooded vest with a black zipper, and black zippered pockets. The suspect additionally was wearing an Atlanta Braves baseball cap with a red brim

The suspect disguised their face by wearing a fake black mustache and goatee. The suspect also wore black plastic framed glasses that appeared to be fake.

In examining surveillance photos from the bank it is not possible to rule out the possibility the suspect was a female. The victim teller could not state whether the suspect’s voice appeared male or female, but stated the suspect’s facial skin appeared very smooth and pale.

The suspect handed the teller a note demanding money, stating they had a gun in their pocket. No weapon was displayed during the robbery. An undisclosed amount of cash was obtained and the suspect left the bank.

A witness at the scene stated a white older SUV consistent with a Ford Bronco II was seen in the area where the suspect had walked to, however the suspect was not seen getting in to any particular vehicle.

Another witness stated they observed a “male” fitting the above description running from the area of the bank and getting into a white sedan with Utah license plates in the Plaza Mall parking lot. The driver of the vehicle was said to be a heavy set, middle aged woman.

Detectives learned that several people were seen in the area recording law enforcement activity near US Bank with mobile devices. The Rock Springs Police Department Detective Division asks that anyone with video footage of the activity please contact RSPD so the video can be viewed for any possible leads.
