Robert “Bob” Velazquez, 63, passed away on October 1, 2020, at his home in Green River, Wyoming, after a long illness.
Bob was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on June 4, 1957, to Isabelle (Hanley) and Jose Arturo Velazquez. He grew up in Kearns, Utah, before moving to Green River to work as a Surface Maintenance Mechanic at Texas Gulf.
He married Janet Bowlin, had two children, Elyse and Michael, and later divorced. Bob worked for TG, FMC, Ward Diesel, and Simplot, and retired in 2019.
He was a loyal Seattle Seahawks fan since the ‘70s, and especially enjoyed cheering for them with his family. His favorite pastimes included barbecuing on his deck while appreciating the beautiful Wyoming scenery; hunting and fishing; and spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Art Velazquez, and stepfather Howard “Bud” Egan.
His survivors include his mother, Isabelle Egan; daughter Elyse (James) Dane; son Michael (Deja Franklin) Velazquez; grandchildren Ryker, Taylor, Shaylie and Cooper Dane, and Maleea and Damien Velazquez; sisters Katherine Meyer, Teresa (Cole) Panushka; brother Patrick Velazquez; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will be no services.
