ROCK SPRINGS — The Rock Springs City Council will consider a request to waive fees for a 48-unit affordable housing project during its meeting on election night.
The request involves the Gardens at White Mountain development, which is located at the corner of Arthur Avenue and Foothill Boulevard. According to the mayor’s office, the total request amounts to $219,165 in fees from the Water, Sewer, and General Funds, while the city would receive $37,005 for the irrigation meter and an 8-inch water meter.
Council documents state the developers are facing “a substantial funding gap despite pursuing financing opportunities.” The request states waiving the fees would help reduce the funding gap and provide support for the housing project to move forward. City staff recommend the Council approve the request.
