Rock Springs Downtown Hosts Mayor’s Tree Lighting and Christmas Parade This Saturday

The 2018 Lighted Christmas Parade will once again run down Main Street and end at the corner of Elk and North Front Street.

ROCK SPRINGS — Plan a Christmas evening to remember on Saturday, December 3rd with the Mayor’s Tree Lighting followed by the Christmas Parade.

Mayor’s Tree Lighting

Join Rock Springs Mayor Carl Demshar for the Mayor’s Tree Lighting. The ceremony will begin at 5:00 p.m. on December 3rd at Cannon Park, on the corner of Elk Street and Grant Street.

Christmas Parade

The Rock Springs Chamber and WyoRadio present the 19th Annual Lighted Holiday Parade, “A Cowboy Country Christmas.”

This year’s parade will be Saturday, December 3rd, at 5:30 p.m. and marks the first year with a theme. The Grand Prize winner for the most decorated float will receive $500 in advertising from the Rocket-Miner.

Entry forms are available at the Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce, at 1897 Dewar Drive. The entry fee is $35 and they are due no later than Friday, December 2nd, at Noon.

Parade Route

The parade route will:

  • Begin on the corner of C Street & Broadway
  • Then travel under the underpass
  • Onto M Street
  • Make a left on Pilot Butte
  • Left on K Street
  • Right on North Front Street
  • Ends on corner of Elk and North Front Street
