SWEETWATER COUNTY – Several Rock Springs Lady Tigers brought home individual gold on Friday as both Rock Springs and Green River traveled to Cheyenne East for the Okie Blanchard Invite.

Rock Springs’ Mesa Weidle ran to a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a 25.85.  She also took home first place in the 800 meters almost two seconds ahead of the second place finisher.

Karli Paiai has been strong early in the 1600 and proved it on Friday with a top finish in the race. She finished just over six seconds ahead of the second-place runner. Sheridan Klingensmith followed Paiai in the 3200 running a 12:47.51 for the individual gold. The Lady Tiger 4×400 relay team was also able to race to a win.

Maliya Crouch was able to pace the field in the shot put and just missed out on a second gold in the Discus finishing in second place.

For the Lady Wolves, Holly Huber was the closest to earning an individual gold as she finished in second place in the 100-meter hurdles. Several other Lady Wolves had top ten finishes including two by Sarah Joyner, Josie Givens, Kacey Turnbull and Jodi Rae Orton.
