ROCK SPRINGS – Officers of the Rock Springs Planning and Zoning Commission will remain the same for 2015.

In the commission’s bylaws, it requires the board to name officers every year in February. At the January meeting, the commission selects a nominating committee made up of three board members. The committee meets – which usually takes place right after the regular meeting in January – and brings their recommendation back to the full commission at the February meeting.

After last month’s meeting, Taylor Jones, Mike Shaw and Cindy Duck volunteered to be the nominating committee. On Wednesday night, Jones told the commission the committee’s recommendation was to keep them the same as they were last year with Mary Manatos as chairman and Paul Legerski as vice chairman. The commission approved the committee’s recommendation.

Also on Wednesday night, the board welcomed two new members recently appointed by the Rock Springs City Council. They are Matthew Jackman and Gary Watkins.
