Rocky Mountain Power crews restore power to all but 8 of the customers impacted by Saturday outage


UPDATE 7:09 pm – Power was restored to all but 8 customers before 6:00 p.m. The lightning strike damaged two power poles. The remaining 8 customers will be out while repairs are being completed. Rocky Mountain Power expects to have the remaining impacted customers power back on by about 9 p.m.

UPDATE: The cause of an ongoing transmission interruption has been determined to be lightning. There are 3,053 customers in Rock Springs without power. ROCK SPRINGS — There are a total of more than 3,000 customers without power in Rock Springs right now. The outages started around 3:30 p.m. crews are still working to confirm the cause, but lightning is a possibility.
