UPDATE 11:47 – The power is back on for Rock Springs residents.
According to Dave Eskelsen with Rocky Mountain Power 5,200 total customers were impacted by the outage.
Approximately 2,000 of those were without power for around one minute while crews opened a circuit breaker at a substation to make repairs.
The initial outage affected 3,300 customers and began at 9:44 a.m.
Crews finished repairs at 11:03 a.m. they narrowed the cause down to the failure of a switch.
ROCK SPRINGS — Details concerning a power outage that stuck Rock Springs at 9:45 a.m. are still scarce. Rocky Mountain Power crews are patrolling looking for the problem.
No cause has been determined yet and no count of affected customers is available.
