ROCK SPRINGS — Rosamond Annabelle “Ann” Stark passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.

She was born April 11, 1926 in Oak Creek, Colorado, the daughter of William and Hope (Stephens) Paterson. Mrs. Stark attended school in Colorado and Rock Springs.

She married James Stark on September 11, 1943 and moved to San Diego, California  where she graduated from high school.

Sheriff Stark preceded her in death on October of 2000. She retired from Montgomery Ward. Her interests included sewing, cooking, cards, crossword puzzles and collecting cookbooks.

She was a member of First Congregational Church, Rock Springs Women’s Club, American Legion Auxiliary, a gold star mother of VFW and Neighbors of Woodcraft.

Survivors include two daughters Nema Stricker and husband Larry of Mesquite, Nevada and Kathleen Bottgenbach and husband Jerry of Rock Springs, Wyoming; four grandchildren Jere Bottgenbach of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Jimmy Stricker and wife Shelly of Herriman, Utah, Andrea Carroll and husband Patrick of Rock Springs, Wyoming, and Dr. John Stricker and wife Dr. Nikki Stricker of Boston, Massachusetts; four great-grandchildren Stefon, Courtland and Bryanna Carroll of Rock Springs and Ashton Stricker of Herriman, Utah; sister-in-law Vi Paterson of Yuba City, California; nephew William Paterson and several nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Sheriff Jim Stark, one son Stephen Stark who was killed in the Vietnam War, two brothers Frank Paterson and Matt Paterson and wife Betty and several nephews.

Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.
