ROCK SPRINGS — Due to an increase in auto burglaries, the Rock Springs Police Department (RSPD) is asking residents to make sure they lock their vehicles.
According to a social media post from the RSPD today, “the Rock Springs Police Department has noted a recent spike in auto burglaries.”
The RSPD is urging all motor-vehicle owners to keep their vehicles locked whenever they are not in them. They are also encouraging residents not to leave personal property in their vehicles overnight.
The RSPD is asking residents to follow these simple tips:
- Lock it: Lock your vehicle every time you leave it.
- Hide it: Hide your valuables in your trunk or other compartments within the vehicle. Ideally, take your property with you.
- Keep it: Personal responsibility is the best prevention to safeguard personal property and to prevent being a victim.
