COACH’S CORNER

Q: Let’s talk a little bit about last season. What were you proud of? What did you wish went better?

Candelaria: “We’re proud of how the team attacked adversity all season and proud we were playing our best basketball at the end of the season. We were very disappointed of how the season ended with the cancelation of the state tournament. We were prepared, healthy and ready for all challenges.”

Q: What are your initial thoughts about this upcoming season?

Candelaria: “We are very excited to get this season going. We look forward to take on all the ups and downs that any season brings including the challenges with the ongoing changes with COVID. Our strengths will be on the defensive end. Weaknesses that we would consider is that we are expecting a lot from some of the girls that may have had limited time on the varsity floor.”

Q: How do you compare against the competition in your conference?

Candelaria: “It is hard to tell, it seems that a lot of teams lost significant pieces to graduation so we’ll have to find out on the court.”

Q: Any other thoughts you’d like to include?

Candelaria: “This is a group that is itching to go. We all still have a bitter taste from how it all ended last season. We have something to prove this year.”
