ROCK SPRINGS — The Rock Springs Police Department reports arresting an alleged shoplifter at Ulta Sept. 11, months after the person allegedly shoplifted from the store in May.
The RSPD said officers responded to Ulta for a shoplifting report after an employee recognized the alleged shoplifter from an incident that occurred May 6. Information was reviewed and the RSPD was able to confirm the connection. Officers spoke with the woman about the May incident and she claimed the items had accidentally slipped into her purse. The RSPD says she asked if she could pay for the merchandise and apologized.
The RSPD said the issue couldn’t be resolved by paying for the items at that point, leading to officers arresting her for larceny. She was then transported her to the Sweetwater County Detention Center.
The RSPD did not release the name of the woman that was arrested in connection with the alleged crime.
