Salvador Ernest “Sal” Flores, 41, a longtime resident of Cody, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on August 12, 2026. He was born on February 6, 1985 in Rock Springs, to Margaret Patterson.

He will always be remembered for his loving heart that made everyone feel like family. His love and laughter was contagious, and he was the type of person you instantly loved. He was the best father, brother, funcle, and friend! He was one of a kind and was loved by so many! His whole heart belonged to his daughters. He loved being silly just to hear their giggles, sharing his love for music with them, recording goofy videos, and being that cool, fun dad. Also fun uncle—that’s how he earned the funcle title. He was fun. Family was everything to him, including his chosen family. If you knew him, you were family. He loved music and playing the guitar. He was a big Packers fan. He loved gaming, exploring, watching movies, sports, and was always ready to adventure. Above all, he loved God.

He is survived by his two daughters, Aliyah and Audrey Stanger of Cody; his brothers, Victor (Robin) Flores of Oklahoma and Aron Flores of Rock Springs; his forever best friend, Jessie Stanger of Cody; Augustus Stanger’Wood, who held a special place in his heart; his uncles, Bob and Clark Patterson; aunts, Dana and Lana Patterson; cousin Linda Lopez and her family, all of Rock Springs; his nieces Victoria (Josh) Jarvis, Eva (Brycen) Flores, Lily Stanger, Aaylah Smith, Thalia Twiddle, Aria Tuck; and nephews Kane and Zabel Flores, Eddie Flores, Terran, and Chase Stanger, along with his chosen family and friends. If you loved him, do know, he loved you too.

He is reunited in Heaven with his mother, Margaret Patterson; grandmother, Linda Patterson; cousin, Richard Patterson; stepfather, Thomas Gutkowski; and best friend, Brandon Gray.

A celebration of Salvador’s life will be held at a later date.
