Scottish Rite Language Center Receives Generous Donation

ROCK SPRINGS — The Women’s Club of Rock Springs, part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, donated $1000 to the Scottish Rite Language Center on March 25th.

The Scottish Rite Language center is located at 218 B St. in Rock Springs. The program offers free speech and language services to qualifying individuals ages 3-17.

Referrals for these services are received through the Sweetwater County School District #1, the Child Developmental Center, doctor’s offices and others.

Referrals may be made by contacting the Masons or calling the Language Center at 307-922-6402. Speech therapist Christy Calvey does the evaluations and provides the speech language instruction.

This free program is supported through the Scottish Rite and donation from others. Three language Centers currently operate in Wyoming: Rock Springs, Cheyenne and Sheridan.

Scott Kitchner, President of the board of the Western Wyoming Language Center was present to accept the check. Juanita Angeli, Leslie Jo Gatti and Marcia Volner represented the Woman’s Club of Rock Springs GFWC.
