ROCK SPRINGS — Central Administration in Sweetwater County School District No. 1 is encouraging parents and students to update their information before the start of school in a couple weeks.
Superintendent Kelly McGovern says “one of the most important items to take care of is your student’s registration. It is crucial that you take a few minutes to update your student’s information, even if not much has changed. Addresses, contact numbers, emergency contacts, permission for field trips, health information, and medical treatment must be accurate so we can support your student in the best way possible.”
In order for students to participate on field trips or athletic trips, registration must be updated. Field trip permission must be provided each year. The form is now open, McGovern said.
Registration Steps
Step 1. Update your student’s information through PowerSchool Unified Classroom. (This is how parents/guardians can keep an eye on student’s grades and other info.) Find the links here: Student Registration Page. Use the same information you used in previous years to create your Unified Classroom Account. If you do not remember your password use the forgot Password link.
- Click on the rocket or quick links on the left side of the screen.
- Click on the Returning Student Registration link under Custom Links.
- Click on Returning Registration on the left side of the screen.
- From here, you will be able to update your student’s registration information.
*Note: If you have multiple students, you will need to make sure the correct student is selected from the dropdown at the top of the screen in the Unified Classroom Window.
Step 2. What if you have never created a Unified Classroom account? No problem, you may find the directions to do so here: Creating a Unified Classroom Account.
What if a student is brand new to SCSD No. 1 or are returning after a lapse in enrollment? You will not need to update your student’s information, and this was completed through the registration process (i.e. New kindergarten students, etc.).
Step 3. If you run into any issues, contact your child’s school or the SCSD No.1 Information Technology (IT) Department. A complete list of school numbers can be found below:
