SWEETWATER COUNTY — Climb Wyoming, a nonprofit whose mission is for low-income single mothers to discover self-sufficiency through career training and placement, is thrilled to celebrate eleven graduates from the recent Sweetwater Area Climb Wyoming Certified Nursing Assistant program.
“These women made an incredible commitment to creating a brighter future for themselves and their children through the Climb program,” said Brittany Gray, Sweetwater Area Climb program director. “Ten of our graduates have already passed the CNA state exam, and several have already been hired by local employers including Mission at Castle Rock Rehabilitation Center, Life Skills, and Sage View Care Center.”
In Sweetwater County, Climb serves an average of 20 participants per year in training that includes Warehouse Technicians, Inventory Technicians, Certified Nursing Assistants and CDL-certified drivers. On average, monthly wages for Climb graduates in Sweetwater County increase from $1,073 to $3,074 and 93% of Sweetwater Climb graduates are employed two years after completing the program. The Sweetwater program has also been instrumental in allowing Climb to develop non-traditional training solutions to meet Wyoming workforce needs statewide and provides a motivated and well-trained workforce for local employers.
“The Sweetwater community has been incredibly supportive of Climb, offering both talent and resources to our program,” said Dr. Ray Fleming Dinneen, Climb Wyoming founder, and executive director. “We were thrilled to see several elected officials at our recent commencement, and are hopeful that they consider funding decisions that allow us to be diversified and sustainable.”
Sweetwater Area Climb Wyoming will offer their next program in Fall 2016, and is considering a second Certified Nursing Assistant training to meet local employment needs. For more information on the Sweetwater Area Climb Wyoming program, please call 307-382-0771.
