SWEETWATER COUNTY — The Sweetwater County Attorney Daniel E. Erramouspe has issued a response to the letter received by the Sweetwater County Board of County Commissioners dated July 1, 2016.
Lemich’s letter was written in response an earlier June 22nd letter written by Erramouspe.
The Issues
The commissioners are challenging the lack of an annual report to the commissioners, the openness of the hospital board’s subcommittee system as well as the signing of contracts and operating agreements without the approval of the commissioners in addition to the question of how property issues should be dealt with.
The commissioners see the issues as a violation of state statute, while Attorney George Lemich, who is the legal counsel for MHSC, frames the commissioners as overstepping their statutory bounds and intruding on the hospital’s mandate.
Lemich also says that there are also unpaid funding obligations owed to the hospital by the county. Which Erramouspe denies.
