Sweetwater County Unemployment Rate Increases to Round Out 2021

SWEETWATER COUNTY — Sweetwater County’s unemployment rate increased from November 2021 to December 2021 to end the year.

The Research & Planning section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reported on Monday that Sweetwater County saw a slight increase in the unemployment rate from 2.8 percent November to 2.9 percent in December.

Sweetwater County remains one of the highest unemployment rates among the 16 counties in the state. Natrona County had the highest rate at 3.1 percent, followed by Sublette and Sweetwater counties at 2.9 percent each.

The state’s seasonly adjusted unemployment rate fell from 3.7 percent in November to 3.3 percent in December.

“Wyoming’s unemployment rate has been trending downward for several months and is much lower than its December 2020 level of 5.2 percent” the report said.
