The Facebook Journalism Project, the Lenfest Institute for Journalism and the Local Media Association have announced the first round of North American local newsrooms receiving FJP Community Network grants to support their coronavirus news coverage. SweetwaterNOW, serving Sweetwater County, Wyoming, was one of the first recipients.

Initially the group was going to award $1 Million in the fast-turnaround grants to support local news, but after such a great response from local publishers they doubled the amount to $2 Million.
