On October 5, 2021, surround at home with loved ones, Sylvia Christie was welcomed home into the gates of heaven. Sylvia was born to the late Thelma and William Haynes on April 7, 1940 in Oklahoma.

She married the love of her life Chester D Christie, in a “blink of an eye town”, Quartzsite, Arizona. He was currently a Marine that took her breath away. Sylvia’s strong will lead her through her life supporting every child that came upon her doorstep.

Her love for children gained her 12 children whom she all loved with the deepest compassion ever. She was the “Mother Theresa” of the South and the “grandma of the neighborhood” in Wyoming.

She will forever be missed by the ones that she left behind, eldest daughter Wanda Baldwin, husband Matt Baldwin of Superior, Wyoming, youngest daughter Terry Frank, husband Barry Frank of Casper, Wyoming, granddaughter Autumn Christie of Rock Springs, Wyoming, grandson Cody Christie of Miles City, Montana, grandson David Baldwin of Superior, Wyoming, great grandchildren Sierra Christie Sorensen, Emily Christie, and Bryson Fletcher of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Brothers Donnie Haynes, wife Dawn Haynes of Purcell, Oklahoma, Erskine Haynes, wife Janet Haynes of Arkansas, and sister Maxine Haynes of Oklahoma.

She was preceding in death with the love of her life, Chester D Christie, both parents, and one brother, Willies Haynes.

Sister, Mother, Grandmother, you will forever be missed and will always be in our hearts. We love you… Until we meet again at the gates of heaven.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on October 23 rd , 2021 at the Eden Valley Cemetery, in Farson, Wyoming. Instead of sending flowers to the family, we ask if you donate to the Foster Care System of Sweetwater County in the name of Sylvia Christie.
