GILLETTE – Team Wyoming is near the top as the team finished the first full day at the National High School Finals Rodeo.
The combined scores of the boys and girls after Monday has Wyoming in the 11th spot out of 40 states that have competed so far. Texas was leading the pack after Monday’s competition.
Big Piney’s Karson Bradley made her first run of the National High School Finals Rodeo on Monday morning. Bradley competed in pole bending and posted a time of 20.965 seconds. She is currently in 19th place but only trails the top time by 0.680 seconds.
LaBarge’s Brian Brown continues to lead the bareback competition with his Sunday score of 78. He is the co-defending national champ. Gillette’s Shyann Russell is in fourth place in the barrels and Emmy Ilgen of Sheridan also sits in fourth in girl’s cutting.
Several cowboys and cowgirls are scheduled to hit the arena on Tuesday including Farson’s Neale Jones and McKinnon’s Chance Anderson.
