whp_oyraqsBIG HORN COUNTY- A crash between a SUV and tractor trailer left three people dead at the intersection of US 20 and WYO 433. The crash occurred on Tuesday September 24.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol reports that Kendra K. Pebbles, 29 and Hunter Heitzman, 3 died at the scene. A third victim, Katlynn M. Heitzman, 2 died the next day at Saint Vincent Hospital in Billings Montana.

According to a Highway Patrol report Pebbles was driving a 2004 Ford Expedition and Daniel M. Zabrinskie was driving a 2012 Kenworth tractor trailer combination. All three of the deceased were in the Ford Expedition and were using proper restraints including seat belts and child safety seats.

Zabriskie was driving his tractor trailer combination southbound on US 20.  Pebbles was traveling northbound on WYO 433 and was approaching the ‘T’ intersection with US 20 where all traffic on WYO 433 is required to stop at the stop sign.

Pebbles failed to slow and stop as required and attempted to make a left turn onto northbound US 20.  Her vehicle travelled into the path of Zabriskie’s tractor trailer combination whereupon her vehicle was struck in the driver’s side door.  After impact, the Expedition rolled 1/4 time and both vehicles traveled across the northbound lanes coming to rest on the shoulder.

Troopers investigating this fatal crash list excessive speed and failure to observe the stop sign as contributing factors.
