ROCK SPRINGS – Fans of Rock Springs High School athletics have a deep passion and their support does not stop. Often times, fans can be heard asking whatever happened to some of RSHS best.
Three former Rock Springs Lady Tiger volleyball players are continuing their careers in the upcoming volleyball season. For Lady Tigers Dani Torpey, Megan Cook and Abby Pomrenke a new college season has started.
Lady Tiger Alumni Dani Torpey redshirted last year for Black Hills State University. This season Torpey returns to the Yellow Jackets as an outside hitter for the Division II school.
While only a sophomore in her college eligibilty, she is a junior in school majoring in English Education. She will also be writing a weekly blog about the team. To follow Dani and her teammates – many which are former Wyoming girls – like the Black Hills University Volleyball Facebook page.
Lady Tiger Alumni Megan Cook and Abby Pomrenke are also continuing their college careers at Central Wyoming Junior College, in Riverton. Both players will be sophomores this season.
Both girls returned to Rock Springs this past weekend as they competed in the Holiday Inn Classic. They will again be back in Rock Springs on Oct. 21 as Central Wyoming will face Western.
