ROCK SPRINGS — Officers acting on a search warrant arrested two people on drug-related charges.
According to Chief Pacheco:
During the evening of April 27, 2016, Detectives of the Rock Springs Police Street Crimes Units (SCU), along with Detectives from the Sweetwater Sheriff’s Office Sheriff’s Narcotics and Arrest Group (SNAAG) conducted a search warrant operation.
The search warrant authorized a search of a red Ford Mustang, as well as two persons. Â The search warrant was executed on Sweetwater Drive near Smarty Jones Drive after Detectives initiated a traffic contact with the vehicle. Â
John Kotusky (26), who reported himself as homeless, and Karry B. Hornsby (37) of Reliance, were located in the car and were the persons listed in the search warrant.
A search of the car and subjects resulted in over 1 ½ ounces of methamphetamine being located as well as a small amount of heroin. Both John Kotusky and Karry Hornsby were arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance-heroin, and Interference with police.  Both were incarcerated at the Sweetwater County Detention Facility; bond had not been set as of the time of the media release. Â
All persons are innocent until proven guilty. Â
