Use Caution On Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam

MANILA — Daggett County Sheriff Jerry Jorgensen would like to remind the public to use caution on and around the Green River due to increased flows. Flows are currently at 8600 cubic feet per second (cfs) because the Bureau of Reclamation has opened the bypass jet valves to mitigate excess water.

The river is flowing fast and high making it complicated to canoes and kayaks, and challenging to rafters. If you are unfamiliar with the river we recommend you inquire at local businesses, with local guide services, or with the U.S. Forest Service about current river conditions and best navigation options. Please use extreme caution, wear life jackets, and obey all warnings and restrictions. The increased flow is expected for the next several months.
