Wanted Pair Arrested; Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia Seized

SWEETWATER COUNTY — County deputies and detectives assigned to the Sheriff’s Office SNAAG (Sheriff’s Narcotics Arrest Group) unit arrested two wanted people on April 17.

Sweetwater County Sheriff Mike Lowell said Deputy Sheriffs Amanda Buller and Mike Merkley followed up leads Friday evening on the whereabouts of Morgan Bauer, 19, wanted for Possession of Methamphetamine, that took them to an address at 45 Purple Sage, west of Rock Springs, where they encountered and arrested Bauer.

Also at the residence was another wanted person, 29-year-old Joshua Hunter of Rock Springs. A bench warrant had been issued for Hunter charging him with failure to pay on a reckless driving  charge and for failing to maintain contact with attorney.

Both were taken into custody and transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center.

Several other adults and two small children were present at the residence, where a search uncovered drugs, including methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Lowell said the Sheriff’s Office investigation is continuing, with charges of child endangering, possession of a controlled substance, and interference with a peace officer a possibility.
