WHP Troopers Join One Young Man’s Fight Against Cancer

CHEYENNE – Whether it is patrolling the streets or helping a resident in need, members of the Wyoming Highway Patrol are always helping citizens. This past weekend, they joined one young man’s battle against Cancer.

One of the many goals of the Wyoming Highway Patrol Association (WHPA) is to direct economic efforts towards charitable organizations and individuals who meet a select criteria. When WHP Trooper Kyle McKay learned of Cheyenne Central High School student Ben Lucas’ battle against cancer, he knew he and the association could show their support to Ben.

After doing some research, Trooper McKay and the entire Cheyenne Trooper Division were able to set up a monetary WHPA donation for Ben to use as he sees fit as he stays strong in his fight with cancer. At last Friday’s (Oct. 9th) halftime of the Sheridan vs. Central football game, Troopers from the Cheyenne Division were able to recognize Ben and presented him with a check to help assist through this difficult time.
