William E. “Gene” Christensen died on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at his home in Buffalo, WY.

He was born February 1, 1932, to Albert and Mina Christensen in Otto, WY. He graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1950 and married Nadine Wolfe.

Together they had 3 children, Jim, Kathy and Brenda.

He worked for the State as a Wyoming Highway Patrolman for 28 years, stationed in Sheridan, then Rock Springs and Laramie as Lieutenant, and Casper as Division Captain before retiring to Buffalo.

William drove a school bus for 20 years in Buffalo and created his own little piece of heaven at his place at Cloud Peak Ranchettes where he raised Scottish Highlander Cattle. He loved his place and was very proud of it.

He was a member of the Sheridan/Johnson County Pioneer Car Club where he won the “The Al Reeves Award” for Outstanding Restoration of a 1929 Model A Sport Coupe in 2016. He rebuilt and restored numerous antique vehicles throughout his life.

William is survived by his son Jim (Deb) Christensen of Queen Creek, AZ, daughter Brenda Faler of Buffalo,, grandchildren Larron (Stephanie) Dolence of Lander, Naaman (Taryn) Dolence of Montpelier, ID, Aaron Christensen of Sheridan, Brandon (Julie) Christensen of Phoenix, AZ, Leah Faler of Rock Springs, WY, Kailee (Victor) Laster of Rock Springs, WY, Evan Faler of Buffalo, WY, sister Marie (Jay) Ham and sister Louella (Ron) Penelerick of Spokane, WA, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nadine, daughter Kathy Dolence and grandson Jaakon Dolence. 

Following cremation, memorial services will be held at a later date.
