ROCK SPRINGS – There is nothing better than a dip in the pool on a hot summer’s day. The Western Wyoming Aquatic Center gave young swimmers the skills to be able to enjoy this popular summer activity while setting a new record in the process.
Cindy Hafner and the staff of the WWCC Aquatic Center enrolled 219 swimmers in its summer swimming program. This set a new record while also marking the first time the center’s summer program has exceeded 200 participants.
While registration for summer lessons have passed, fall is quickly approaching. Fall registration starts on July 30 at 7:30 a.m. at WWCC registration and records office.
In person registration is recommended. Phone-in registrations will be taken as phone lines and personnel are available. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
For those just looking to cool off, the WWCC Aquatic Center is open for recreational swimming Monday and Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and also Monday through Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
If you’re looking for more of an exercise experience without the hassle of doging recreational swimmers, lap swimming is available. It is Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again at 4:30 p.m. through 6:30 p.m.
The Pool/Jacuzzi will close 10 minutes prior to closing time to allow for swimmers to shower, etc. The entire facility, including the locker rooms, close at the times listed above.
