Wyoming IT Department Nominated for National Awards

CHEYENNE – The Wyoming Department of Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) is a finalist for two national awards honoring information technology achievements in the public sector. The awards are presented by the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO). The department handles information technology services to state agencies.

ETS has been nominated in two categories: Enterprise IT Management Initiatives for the Wyoming Enterprise Extendable Code Library and Information Communications Technology Innovations for the Wyoming Unified Network. The Wyoming Unified Network is a 100 gigabit statewide network backbone. Improving broadband access and technology is a priority of Governor Mead.

“The ETS department has earned this recognition,” said the Governor. “The Unified Network provides broadband service across Wyoming. Accessible, reliable broadband service is key in encouraging new business growth and recruiting companies. I congratulate Director Flint Waters and the folks at ETS.”

“The extendable code cloud library helps Wyoming pursue its goals surrounding technology,” added Flint Waters, Director of ETS. “We are breaking with tradition in reinventing how government designs, procures and deploys cloud solutions.
