Wyoming Department of Corrections Hiring a Principal Licensed Counselor


Wyoming Department of Corrections is currently seeking a Principal Licensed Counselor for one of our three offices based in Green River, Rock Springs or Evanston.

The chosen candidate will conduct court ordered clinical substance abuse assessments and mental health screens to be submitted to the courts for persons who have felonies or three or more DUIs within 10 years in Wyoming courts.


This candidate will conduct substance abuse assessments and mental health screens for several Field Offices and Institutions using the Addiction Severity Index (ASI), the current version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), the current version of the American Society of Addiction Medicine Patient Placement Criteria (ASAM), and other standard assessment tools as clinically indicated.

The candidate will recommend treatment as a part of the Pre-Sentence Investigation Report, collaborate with Probation and Parole Agents and other collateral sources as necessary.


  • A Master’s Degree required typically in a field which meet the academic standards by the board.
  • Some travel is required
