Wyoming Highway Patrol Capture California Fugitive

CASPER – Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers in two different parts of the state working together with WHP Dispatchers located and apprehended a sought California fugitive on August 22.

Around 4:30 p.m. on the 22, law enforcement in the Casper area received a tip for an attempt to locate (ATL) suspect at the Hat Six Truck Stop in Evansville, Wyoming for a sexual offender who had a warrant for his arrest out of Sacramento, California. The suspect had absconded from his parole and had not registered as a sex offender in over three and a half years.

The suspect was not located in the Casper area, but through the course of a continued investigation by Patrol, it was determined the suspect was in the Cheyenne area. Through the continued investigation, Cheyenne area Troopers responded to the Cheyenne area Flying J Truck Stop off of Interstate 25 Exit 7 and located and arrested 62 year old Rocky Griffin (listed address as San Diego, CA) at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
