Wyoming Resident Died after One-Vehicle Rollover near Riverton

RIVERTON — A 43-year-old Wyoming resident died after a one-vehicle rollover near Riverton Saturday, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP).

On April 10, a fatal crash occurred around milepost 121 on Wyoming 789 north of Riverton. At 8:46 p.m., WHP troopers were notified of a one-vehicle rollover.

A 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee was headed north on Wyoming 789 when the vehicle exited the road’s left side and overturned.

The driver of the Jeep has been identified as 43-year-old Shell, Wyoming, resident Tyler D. Spencer.  Spencer was wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.

Speed is being investigated as a potential contributing factor.

This is the 25th fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2021 compared to 19 in 2020, 39 in 2019, and 22 in 2018 to date.
