WASHINGTON — The University of Wyoming soccer team returned home from Washington with two shutout victories and a three-match winning streak after defeating Gonzaga 1-0 on Thursday and Eastern Washington 2-0 on Sunday.

The Cowgirls improved to 5-2-0 on the season after blanking both opponents, while goalkeeper Haley Bartel continued to strengthen her hold on Wyoming’s career shutout record. Bartel made seven saves against Gonzaga for her third shutout of the season and 21st of her career. She followed that with three saves Sunday against Eastern Washington, giving her 22 career clean sheets.

The Cowgirls found the only goal they needed against Gonzaga in the 76th minute. Maddie Burr sent a corner kick into the box, and the Bulldogs were unable to clear it, resulting in an own goal.

Wyoming generated consistent pressure throughout the match, taking 17 shots to Gonzaga’s 12 and firing 11 shots in the second half. Alyssa Glover led all players with six shots, while Jennah Wanner and Izzy Schroder each had two. Gonzaga goalkeeper Sydney Head made six saves.

Wyoming carried that defensive momentum into Sunday’s matchup with Eastern Washington, which entered the game 5-0 and had allowed just one goal all season.

The Cowgirls handed the Eagles their first loss and extended their winning streak to three matches with a 2-0 victory.

“It was a full weekend of competing and getting back to our defensive ways,” Purdum said. “We knew they were going to be fresh with having the week off. We knew they were going to run at us and use the ball well and they certainly did in the first half. That’s a really good team. They deserved to be undefeated up until us.

“Those are the challenges we need to face leading up to conference.”

Erin Dahl opened the scoring in the 20th minute with the first goal of her career. Dahl made a long run on a counterattack following an Eastern Washington corner kick, with Glover finding her for the finish.

The assist moved Glover to 57 career points, one behind second place in Wyoming program history.

Alisa Bunn doubled Wyoming’s lead in the 27th minute, scoring off a pass from Hadley Linder. The goal was Bunn’s second of the season and made her one of five Cowgirls with multiple goals in 2026. Dahl became the seventh different Wyoming player to score this season, matching the total number of Cowgirls who scored throughout all of last season.

Wyoming outshot Eastern Washington 24-11 and held an 11-3 advantage in shots on goal. Glover led the Cowgirls with five shots.
