LARAMIE – The Wyoming Cowgirl Volleyball Team will host and play in their first spring tournament on Saturday, April 26. The matches are scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. in the UniWyo Sports Complex. Besides the Cowgirls, Casper College, Colorado State, LCCC, Northwest College, Sheridan College and Western Wyoming will also participate.
In the seven-team format, each team will play two sets with scoring to 25 points or a 60 minute time limit. If there is a split, the winner will be determined by the point difference. The Cowgirls are scheduled to play Sheridan College at 10:00 a.m., Northwest College at 12:00 p.m., Western Wyoming at 1:30 p.m. and Colorado State at 3:30 p.m.
The Cowgirls are scheduled to open up the 2014 season on Friday, Aug. 29, as they participate in the University of Montana Tournament. Second year head coach Chad Callihan welcomes back four starters, including three-time All-MW selection Erin Kirby, nine total letterwinners and eight newcomers.
