ROCK SPRINGS – Many parents are starting to look for fun family summer activities now school is out. The first of three Track and Field Fun Meets will hit the track on Wednesday.
The Track and Field Fun Meets are designed for the youth of the community. Civic Center program officials said it is a good way for the youth to express their joy of track and field in a youth event designed to showcase young skills. Participants range from 3-years-old to 18-years-old, While it allows young residents a chance to be active it is also easy of the wallet as the meets are free for those interested.
The meets take place at the Rock Springs High School Track. On Wednesday, registration will start at 5:30 p.m. with events getting underway at 6 p.m. Some of the many events include the 25-meter dash, the 50-meter dash, standing long jump, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, joggers mile, 400-meter dash, 4×100 relay, softball throw and 800-meter dash.
The other two Track and Field Fun Meets are scheduled to take place on July 8 and August 5. The Track and Field Fun Meets are sponsored by the Rock Springs Civic Center Programs Department.
