SWEETWATER COUNTY — The Southwestern Wyoming Central labor Council will once again sponsor a food drive in conjunction with their annual Labor Day Picnic and horseshoe tournament.
All workers and their families are invited to attend the picnic and are asked to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to the Food Bank of Sweetwater County. The food bank needs packaged side dishes, canned meat, canned beans, canned fruit and other non-perishable items.
The picnic will be held on Labor Day, September 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Crossroads West Park on the West side of Rock Springs. Food and beverages are provided and, as always, the picnic is free.
The Southwestern Wyoming Central Labor Council represents eighteen local unions and thousands of workers in southwestern Wyoming. Through the state AFL-CIO and our local unions we educate the public on workers’ rights and issues. The council supports equal pay for working men and women, advocates for a voice and dignity in the workplace and for a safe working environment. We encourage our members to participate in the community and to spend their wages locally.
