ROCK SPRINGS – No matter what sport it is, there are a few games everyone looks for when schedules are released. For fans of Sweetwater County basketball, the first of these dates is Thursday night.
The Tigers – Wolves rivalry will be renewed Thursday night in Rock Springs. It is the only game scheduled for both teams this week. The game is set to tip at 7:30 p.m.
Both teams have tasted success this season. For the Tigers, they enter Thursday’s game ranked third in 4A and sitting on top of the 4A West Conference. For the Wolves, they ended a long losing streak and continue to push teams to the end.
Rock Springs is currently 2-0 in conference play with an overall record of 10-3. The Tigers have been strong on both ends of the court. They enter second in 4A in scoring, averaging 64.5 points a game, while only giving up 55.5 points per game.
Rock Springs leads the league in team shooting, hitting 52 percent from the field this season. As a team, the Tigers are also ranked fourth in 4A in rebounding grabbing just under 28 boards a game.
Individually, the Tigers are led by Demetrius Davenport. He is third in the 4A West conference in scoring averaging 16.5 points a game. He is also third in the conference in rebounding pulling down five a game and ninth in assists.
On the defensive side, Davenport is third in the West in steals and sixth in blocked shots.
Carter Rosette is having a strong season for RSHS. He currently ranks sixth in the West in scoring averaging 11.8 a game. Rosette is currently second in the West in steals. Jared Rodriguez is also averaging double digits in scoring averaging 11.2 a game.
For Green River, they are 10th in 4A in scoring averaging 48.3 a game. Defensively, they are towards the bottom giving up 61.3 points per game.
Individual, Devn Love has paced the Wolves. He currently is fourth in the 4A West Conference in scoring with 13 points a game. Love is also ninth in rebounding with teammate Hunter Spartz in seventh, both averaging right around 4.5 boards a game.
Cameron Morris has been doing the little things for the team as he is currently fifth in the conference in assists and leads the 4A West in steals with two a game.
Farson Pronghorns

The Pronghorns have a busy schedule with two games on the slate. They travel to Hanna Elk Mountain on Friday before returning home for a contest with Manila on Saturday. Farson-Eden is currently second in the 1A Southwest Conference with a conference record of 2-1.
This will be the first meeting of the year between HEM and Farson. Hanna leads the 1A Southeast Conference with a record of 6-5. On Saturday, it will be the second meeting between the Pronghorns and Manila. This past Saturday, Manila was able to pull out the four-point win over FE, 60-56.
As a team, the Pronghorns are averaging right around 47 points per game averaging 38 percent from the field. Defensively, the team has been giving up 52 points a game but lead the 1A conference in rebounding averaging 36 a game.
Neale Jones has been on his game averaging a double-double. He is averaging 12.5 points per game while pulling down 11 boards a game. He leads the 1A conference in rebounding and is also tied for third in the conference in blocked shots with two a game.
Lain Mitchelson has also been tough for the Pronghorns. He leads the team in scoring with 14 a game and is second in the conference in rebounding averaging 9.9 a game. Mitchelson is also among the conference leaders in assists and steals.
