$27.6M Loan for Wastewater Treatment Plant Up for Consideration

GREEN RIVER– During the Green River City Council meeting Tuesday night, they will consider approval for a $27.6 million loan for the wastewater treatment plant replacement.

The Green River City Council will meet on Tuesday, May 5 at 7 pm via video conferencing.

Due to COVID-19 Coronavirus recommendations, the meeting will not be accessible through Green River City Hall. The public can access the meeting on the City of Green River Information YouTube page.

The State Lands and Investment board approved the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) loan on April 16 and now the council must decide to approve it or not.

The city is responsible for 0.5 percent of the loan, which makes the city’s portion $138,000.

The loan has a combination of a 2.5 percent and zero percent interest rate for 30 years, and the loan must start being payed off one year after the project is completed.
