ROCK SPRINGS — Spring rain is not the only reason the City of Rock Springs is getting greener.  Working in partnership with the Wyoming State Forestry Division, ExxonMobil recently donated $4,000 for a grant to help create a greener urban landscape in the City.

“We are very fortunate to be the recipient of this generous grant from ExxonMobil,” said Mark Lyon, Parks Superintendent.  “It will go a long way in obtaining tree planting stock for the City.”

The tree planting began at 10 am, Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Foothill Wetlands Park.  In a recent City Council meeting, Mayor Carl Demshar proclaimed that day as Arbor Day in the City of Rock Springs and the trees will be planted in observation.
