SWEETWATER COUNTY – Are you looking to change your diet and be healthier? If so, stop by White Mountain Library’s upcoming program.
Eating Well without Sugar and Flour will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 21 at the library, 2935 Sweetwater Drive in Rock Springs. Library staff member Susan Allred will be presenting the program.
Allred will talk about the effects of sugar and white flour on the brain and how large segments of the population are highly sensitive to the addictive properties in these two items. “This topic is important to me because I’ve searched for years for a food plan that would improve my health and help me drop weight at the same time,” Allred said. “Removing these two items from my diet has significantly improved my health and I’ve dropped 75 pounds. After trying to figure it out for 30 years, literally, I’ve found a program that works for me.”
Along with a discussion about eating with no sugar and white flour, Allred will provide samples of healthy food choices. “I will be serving zucchini tortilla shells with salsa, and oatmeal-banana-raspberry cookies,” she said. Both items are made without sugar or flour. Allred will also share other recipe ideas to help those in attendance get started on this path.
