GREEN RIVER – The Green River Wolves tennis squad may not have came away with team wins against Natrona and Sheridan, but they showed they are close.

The Wolves would lose to both Sheridan and Natrona by the score of 3-2. They had chances as several of the individual matches would go to three sets while others would be decided in tiebreakers.

The Marchal brothers continued their hot play as they remained perfect on the season. They would, however, be tested. Both their matches against Sheridan and Natrona would go three sets. After losing the first set in a tiebreaker against Sheridan, the brothers would respond with 6-2 sets in the second and third to take the win.

Against Natrona, a break would be the difference as the Marchals took the first set 6-4. They would drop another tiebreaker in the second set but respond with a dominating 6-1 win to clinch.

From the No.1 singles spot, Jacob Lock went 1-1 losing his first match of the year. He lost to one of the favorites, Quinton Suska of Sheridan. He was in a battle with another strong 4A player Natrona’s Michael Langmade when Langmade had to retire in the third set.

The other win on the boy’s side came from the team of Andrew Halverson and Cody Lee. The team looked strong against Sheridan winning in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-1. Halverson and Lee would loss a three-set battle against Natrona.

Karsyn Beutel and Josh Graves would loss a heartbreaker against Sheridan in the closest match of the day, 6-7, 6-2, 7-6. They lost in another three setter against Natrona as well.
