ROCK SPRINGS – The discussion to change the mayor and city council pay scales will start its journey this Tuesday at the Rock Springs City Council meeting at 7 p.m. at Rock Springs City Hall.
The proposed ordinance change will go through first reading Tuesday night. The proposed change would increase the maximum amount the Rock Springs Mayor could receive as pay from $14,400 to $24,000.
The maximum a Rock Springs City Councilman can receive will go from $4,800 to $12,000.
The first reading of the change will be Tuesday night. The council will take comments from constituents throughout the three-reading process. After the third reading the council will vote on the proposed salary change to the ordinance.
Presentations
The council will hear three presentations on Tuesday. Dave Hanks and Kayla McDonald will give a Rock Springs Chamber Development Update. A water diversion update will be provided by Don Hartley and the Rock Springs Historical Museum will also give the council an update on the museum and their recent doings.
Action items
– The council will decide on employee gift certificates for 2013. The amount budgeted is $50 per employee, which is the same value budgeted in the past. The certificates will be issued to all qualified full time and permanent part time employees.
– Recently the Sweetwater County School District No. 1 voted on an agreement for facility use between the district and the city. The memorandum of understanding will now go to the city council for their acceptance.
