GREEN RIVER– Green River High School 2018 graduate Brayden Kovick signed with Central Wyoming College (CWC) this afternoon to run for their cross country team and indoor and outdoor track team.
Kovick Has Been Running for Five Years
Kovick has been running since 8th grade when he was convinced by a friend to try cross country. When his friend quit, Kovick stuck with it. He kept improving and soon realized that he is a good runner.
It was three years later that he decided he wanted to run at a collegiate level.
“Ever since my junior year I knew I had collegiate level running in me,” Kovick said.

Deciding on Central Wyoming College
Kovick looked at Western Wyoming Community College and College of Idaho before deciding on CWC.
“They (CWC) gave me a running opportunity and a scholarship,” Kovick said of his decision to attend Central Wyoming.
He hopes he can be a “better teammate and a good runner” at CWC to help the team get a regional championship.

CWC head cross country coach Al Lara said he is excited to have Kovick join the team and wishes he could have signed him sooner.
“He’s definitely one of our best that we’ve recruited,” Coach Lara said.
Kovick plans to study pre-med as he wants to go into chiropractics.
