JEFFREY CITY — A 3.1 magnitude Earthquake was reported near Jeffrey City around 10:19 p.m. on August 16.

According to the United States Geological Survey website, the recorded earthquake took place about 20 miles northeast of Jeffrey City and 111 miles from Rock Springs.

As of 10:30 a.m. on August 17, only one person was reporting to the USGS that they felt the earthquake. Did you feel it? If so, the USGS would like to know.
