Impatient truck driver attempts to force his way around slow moving Air Force Convoy on US 85; Allegedly rams one convoy vehicle in attempt before being arrested
CHEYENNE — 51 year old Randy Hill of Torrington, Wyoming was arrested on August 13th when he  became impatient with an Air Force truck convoy traveling north on US 85. The incident began 28 miles northeast of Cheyenne at mile post 38 on US 85 at 9:40 in the morning.
Mr. Hill came upon the rear of the slow moving convoy in a 2007 International semi truck and became impatient with the convoy’s speed. Mr. Hill attempted to pass the convoy and began endangering oncoming southbound traffic. Air Force personnel attempted to stop Hill, but Hill would not yield to them. At one point during the incident, an Air Force vehicle was able to get in front of Hill and Hill drove the International truck in to the rear end of the Air Force vehicle.
Approximately 10 miles in to the incident, a Wyoming State Trooper was able to get behind Mr. Hill and get him stopped at mile post 48 on US 85. Mr. Hill was taken in to custody by the trooper without incident. Mr. Hill was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center where the case has been referred to the Laramie District Attorney’s Office. No injuries were reported and the convoy was able to proceed without stopping.
