SWEETWATER COUNTY — For the second year in a row, the Young and Professional (YAP) of Sweetwater County board and members partnered with Bernadine Craft to identify local families in need and provide them with a Thanksgiving dinner, prepared by Dickey’s Barbecue Pit. The YAP board and members raised over $1,000 during their Halloween event and through private donations and were able to provide meals for several families this year.

It is so wonderful to see these young professionals contributing to the community in this way and really affecting local families. To be able to share a delicious Thanksgiving meal will mean the world to them and will really be appreciated.

About YAP

Young and Professional (YAP) of Sweetwater County was created by six local, young professionals in collaboration with the Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce to organize events, education, and gatherings for the young professionals in the area. It is a group comprised of individuals 21-39 who are looking for professional, educational, social, and networking enrichment with their peers.  Their mission is to provide career-minded individuals with opportunities to develop socially, professionally, and civically. This group was formed after businesses contacted the RS Chamber looking for a solution that would develop emerging leaders and attract and retain diverse young talent throughout Sweetwater County. For more information on YAP and to find out about their next meeting, please contact the RS Chamber.
